This Breda-manufactured M1D Garand Sniper, TIPO-2, is an outstanding and highly collectible example of a Cold War–era U.S. sniper rifle produced for allied forces. Manufactured by Breda (Italy) under U.S. contract, this rifle represents a correct Tipo-2 configuration, featuring the factory-installed M1D sniper barrel and scope mounting system.
Chambered in 7.62x51mm, the M1D utilizes the offset scope mounting design that allows continued use of the iron sights while accommodating the USGI M84 telescope, which is included with this rifle. The M84 scope remains one of the most recognizable optics associated with U.S. sniper rifles of the period.
