Product Description
M1 Garand Rifle
The M1 Garand is a historic semi-automatic battle rifle that served as the standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War, and later saw limited service during the Vietnam War. While most rifles were issued to U.S. forces, hundreds of thousands were also distributed to allied nations as part of military aid programs. Today, the M1 Garand remains in use with military drill teams and honour guards and is highly valued by civilians for collecting, target shooting, and hunting.
The rifle was designed by Canadian-born engineer John C. Garand and was the first standard-issue semi-automatic rifle adopted by the United States military. Widely regarded as a major advancement in infantry weaponry, it earned high praise from military leaders—most famously George S. Patton, who described it as “the greatest battle implement ever devised.”
During the 1950s, manufacturers Breda and Beretta produced Garand rifles in Italy at the request of NATO, using tooling originally employed by Winchester Repeating Arms Company during World War II that had been shipped to Italy by the U.S. government. These Italian-produced rifles were designated Model 1952.
Condition: These surplus rifles are in good to great condition, showing typical signs of service use while remaining mechanically sound and well-preserved for their age.
